I’ve always been drawn to the idea of speaking to people in a way that actually matters. Not just talking, but making someone think differently, feel understood, or walk away with a little more confidence than they had before.
The problem is, I’ve never been comfortable putting myself out there socially.
That’s part of why The Sideways Mind exists.
My hope is that this website can bring a bridge, a place where I can share my thoughts, perspectives, and lessons without feeling the pressure of a crowd. I believe there is value in what every person has learned, no matter how small it may seem. Everyone has something they’ve experienced or figured out that could genuinely help someone else.
Maybe one day, this will help me face that fear head-on. Maybe I’ll become comfortable standing in front of a room, speaking into a microphone, and sharing these same thoughts out loud. I’d like to think that every time I hit publish, I’m taking one small step in that direction.
For now, though, this is where I begin.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I hope you’ll stick around and see where The Sideways Mind goes from here.
